Revelation 1:7-20

Aug 27, 2025    Pastor Marc Transparenti

As Chapter one closes, Jesus is desribed as the Son of Man who is coming on the clouds with authority to judge. Pastor Marc points out how to understand the difference between symbolic and literal language found in Revelation, as some of the descriptions of Jesus in Chapter 1 use symbolic language (for ex. "His head and hair were white like wool..." Like wool, not actually wool).

A key verse that unlock the mystery and outlines Revelation is found in verse 19, "Write the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which will take place after this." The "things which you have seen" are what is read in Chapter 1 of Revelation. The "things which are" describe what is portrayed in Revelation chapters 2-3. And "the things which will take place after this" describe Revelation chapters 4-22. This is a book which is meant to be understood, and is understandable even if there are those who would claim otherwise.
