Returning from Egypt, Abram returns full circle to Bethel and calls on the name of the Lord. Then strife broke out between Abram and Lot's herdsmen because of the excess of livestock and limited feeding grounds... leading to their separation. Abram yields the choice of land to Lot, and Lot sees and chooses the best land, revealing his heart. Haddon Robinson wrote, “In any given situation, what you are determines what you see, and what you see determines what you do.” And Lot saw land, and Sodom, and was drawn to and dwelt there, away from the will of God.
