After Sarah dies, Abraham purchases land in Canaan for the first time for her burial, and we witness the negotiations. Abraham was a foreigner in the land but had a good reputation, walked humbly, and held loose to his treasures during the process of buying land that was all promised by God to be the land of his descendants.
