Chapter 21 displays the long awaited promise fulfilled in the birth of Isaac, which leads to Hagar and Ismael cast out. And in all of this we behold a type… a picture of the Gospel and a lesson that justification is NOT earned by law and works… it’s a gift received by faith and grace, as pictured through the son of flesh (Ishmael) and the son of promise (Isaac).
